Meracinque: rice, solidarity and strong values
π Rice, heart and a lot of humanity
There are producers we're proud to collaborate with. And then there are those who touch us deeply.
Meracinque is one of both.
Behind this Italian company are five sisters , united, passionate, and committed. And when we discovered what they had set up to help the Italian Red Cross , we immediately wanted to tell you about it.
500 kilos of rice. 500 meals a day. And a lot of solidarity.
During the crisis that hit the province of Bergamo , the sisters of Meracinque decided to do what they did best: feed, with heart and with quality .
So they donated 500 kilos of Carnaroli Classico rice to the local Red Cross, to support the incredible work of Michelin-starred chef Umberto De Martino , who prepares 500 hot meals every day for volunteers in the field.
Soldiers, doctors, nurses, members of the civil protection, volunteers... all these people who give selflessly for others have, thanks to this chain of solidarity, a comforting dish to savor between two interventions.
And Meracinque didn't stop there.
50% of sales made on their online store were donated to the Italian Red Cross , to help centers across the country.
We don't just sell their rice. We share their values.
When we started working with Meracinque, we were immediately struck by the quality of their product.
But now it's much more.
Their Carnaroli Classico , carefully cultivated with respect for traditions and ecosystems, is an exceptional rice. And we are proud to be able to offer it to you in our Produits Ciao store.
But what we admire even more is the strength, commitment and generosity of these five Venetian sisters .
They remind us why we do this job. Why we want to introduce you to these products.
Because a good product is more than just a taste: it's a story, an ethic, a way of doing good around you .
Thank you rice sisters π
We don't know them in person yet, but we hope that one day we will be able to tell them in person:
Grazie. Per il riso, per il cuore, per tutto.
